Yin
Yin yoga was developed with the help fo Paulie Zinc and Sarah Powers in the 80's by Paul Grilley. The word yin comes from Daoism, an eastern philosophy that believes all of life moves between the polarities of yin and yang. Yin describes a passive, cool, dark, internal quality versus yang which is active, hot, light and externally oriented. Yin yoga aims to bring health to your joints, fascia and bones- the yin tissues of your body. It balances the yang, active practice.
